Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Chanel Patana
I believe that each child is unique, unique in their needs, families, backgrounds, ethnicity, and how they see the world. It is my job as their healthcare provider to match their uniqueness in how I treat and care for them. Health care is more than a job it is a calling to be present in each visit with every patient and their families. Healthcare is an umbrella term covering empathy, compassion, honesty, trustworthiness, kindness, caring, and diagnosis/treating. Pediatric patients see the world through their own eyes and in each interaction, I try to see it with them. I want each child to feel safe and to enjoy coming to see me. This can only be achieved in taking the time that is needed to connect with them on their own level. There is no greater pleasure than walking into an exam room and having a child's eyes light up because they remember seeing me and know that I am going to make them feel special and secure.

Family Nurse Practitioner
Kristi Skinner
I believe that health is inclusive of the whole person, mental, physical, spirit/emotion. As a Nurse Practitioner, I see my position in the community as an educator and partner to promote health and wellness. I make efforts to learn about the people I serve so that I can provide the tools one needs to be their healthiest self to live their best lives. Providing holistic care begins with this understanding. If I can meet a person in the place they are and help them make steps to being healthier, then I believe I have met my calling in this life. I believe each individual is responsible for their own well-being; it is not my job to make someone change, but to provide the education and reasons why we recommend things, but then it is up to that person to decide to follow the recommendations or choose not to, and it is ok to choose not to do something. I provide holistic care, incorporating appropriate medications as well as recommending alternative treatments when warranted.
